Nature, Rain

Sleep would not come

© Christy S. Herrera

A storm keeps her up at night.

Sleep would not come again this night.
The storm outside was growing fierce,
Howling winds made the faint sounds of a whisper through out the halls.

Sleep would not come again this night.
With each snap of lightening, dark shadows danced across the walls.
Every crash of thunder made the windows vibrate.

Sleep would not come again this night.
The patter and dripping sounds of rain, usually so soothing to the soul.
But storms like this, I have come to hate.
